About Me

Cooking and sharing with friends and family is a way of showing love. It gives pleasure to feed people and know they get pleasure from something you have lovingly prepared. Food feeds the soul and good food keeps the soul happy.

**************************************************************

I am just a normal working class housewife and mother who had a dream of producing her own cookbook.

After 40+ years of tried and trusted recipes I decided to write a cookbook for my daughters and grandchildren however when other family members heard that i was writing this book, i was inundated with orders. I researched publishing but unfortunatley it was too expensive and i knew people would not pay the prices places like ‘BLURB’ were charging.

I ended up buying a Canon I-SENSYS LBP7750Cdn Colour Laser Printer ,a proffessional laminator,ring-binder plus all the other accessories. With the help of my dear husband we produced my own A4 of 184 pages and about 160 recipies each on its own page with pictures.book with good quality gloss paper and a hard laminated cover.

So far i have sold 70 copies locally and thats about my limit but at least i had a go 🙂 Maybe the way to go is as an e .book but I need to look into that.

I really hope you enjoy my recipies and that you try as many as you can. If you enjoy flavoursome food from Asia, Africa, the Mediterranean and of course England you are sure to find a good selection in this book. I have also included my favourite Turkish food which I enjoyed during the many years spent visiting our holiday home in Turkey.

Favorite quotations

It means a great deal to those who are oppressed to know that they are not alone. And never let anyone tell you that what you are doing is insignificant.

Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.
